Do your candles smell as strong as 'normal' candles?

Without all the chemicals that 'normal' candles use to preserve their artificial fragrances, it is impossible to create an essential oil candle as strong as a synthetic fragranced candle. You wont get that 'smell hits you as soon as you open the front door' with our candles. You get a more subtle fragrance, but with aromatherapeutic benefits (synthetic candles cannot do this). Synthetic fragrances cannot connect to your brain in the way the scent molecules from essential oils can. They can certainly make the ground floor of your house smell like a buttered croissant, but they cannot trigger the limbic system, help calm your senses, boost your mood or trigger memory and emotion. They offer a lighter, more luxurious scent than fragrance oils, without being overpowering. So no nasty scent induced headaches from our candles.

Do natural candles expire?

No, not as such. Again there are no nasty preservatives in ours, so over time (over a year) the quality of the burn may deteriorate. But no they do not expire.

Are your candles safe for pets?

The volume of essential oils in our candles is low enough that they won't cause any issues to your pets (but birds do have more delicate respiratory systems, and you really shouldn't burn any candle, natural or synthetic around them anyway). When burning your candle, your pets should be free to leave the space should they wish to do so. Some animals can be sensitive to pine, cinnamon, tea tree, clove oils (think Christmas candles) as they can cause respiratory irritation. Safer blends containing oils such as lavender, cedarwood, frankincense, chamomile oils would be best suited for pets (and can even help them relax too!). Please never leave your candle unattended near your pet as some essential oils can be very harmful to them if ingested.

Do you ship abroad?

No unfortunately we do not at present. We currently only ship to UK mainland. Maybe one day though!

Do you offer other candle vessels or only jars?

We currently only sell our candles in jars, due to their recyclability (and they're very cute). In the new year we will be looking into candle refills, allowing you to choose your vessel colour, choose your scent, then when you've used your candle up, pop in a refill! We're all about being eco friendly and reducing waste, so this way you can use your vessel time and time again, and its cheaper to buy a candle refill than a new vessel that will just go to waste when it runs out!
